Welcome To Mexico's Number One Vacation Destination!
The Copper Canyon (Barranca del Cobre), is a region in northwest Mexico that hosts some of the most spectacular, rugged and beautiful land in all of Mexico. With a series of 20 canyons, formed over hundreds of years by six rivers, the area is sometimes compared to Arizona’s Grand Canyon – although the Copper Canyon region is at least seven times the size of the Grand Canyon, and has a very different topography of flora and fauna.

copper canyon brochureStart your adventure aboard the Chihuahua del Pacifico train, commonly known as "El Chepe", for a memorable family vacation at one of Mexico's great natural wonders. For over 40 years Balderrama Hotels and Tours has provided their guests with the most complete tour packages at affordable prices anywhere.

You won't find a better deal anywhere else in North America. How can we do this, you may ask? Because we are the only Copper Canyon tour operators that are based in Mexico and run by the people that know the canyons the best. We have the finest lodges with affordable rate vacation packages all year round, with excellent services and a friendly bilingual staff to make your trip a most memorable experience.

Your Copper Canyon tour includes all meals, canyon activities, hotel lodging, a great vacation itinerary, free airport transfers, Chepe Train tickets (we are your official train ticket office), all ground transportation and excursions. Flights are available from most International locations, with direct flights available from Guadalajara to Los Mochis, via AeroMexico and smaller carriers. As our guest you are always provided with fresh purified bottled water in transit, in our hotels and restaurants.

The Copper Canyon is known locally as the Sierra Tarahumara. The Tarahumara indians are descendants of the Aztecs and live a simple life in these canyons, some still living in cave homes, the way they have for thousands of years. Today, they also sell their crafts and unique homemade food and sweets (dulces) to visitors who travel via the “El Chepe” train system.

These exquisite canyons are home to approximately 290 species of birds, including 10 endangered of extinction, with almost one third of Mexico’s land mammals are found in the canyon region, and more than 3,500 species of plants, among these are more than 400 wild medicinal plants.

At Balderrama Hotel & Tours we strive to give our guests the most enjoyable Copper Canyon experience available, with the best services, a helpful and courteous staff that cater to your every request. Click here to see what some of our recent guests have said about their vacation experience.
