This awesome mountainous region has attracted world-wide attention since it is home to one of the longest and deepest systems of canyons in the world.

Day 1

Arrive in Los Mochis and Transfer to El Fuerte, Sinaloa, Colonial Town.

Welcome to sunny and friendly México. Upon your arrival at the Los Mochis International Airport, a vehicle will be ready to transfer you to the colonial town of El Fuerte, founded in 1564. (55 minutes) It is also famous for being the legendary birthplace of Señor Diego de la Vega, also known as Zorro.

Arrive in El Fuerte “The Gateway to Copper Canyon” and spend one night at the Posada del Hidalgo Museum Hotel & Resort


Day 2

El Fuerte – Cerocahui, Chihuahua (Mision Hotel)

Early this day board the famous Chepe Train heading to the Bahuichivo train station. The Copper Canyon train ride is an inspiring journey that took more than 100 years to construct. Called by Readers Digest“The Most dramatic train ride in the northern hemisphere”, it is an engineering marvel (according to National Geographic) that will take you from sea level to almost 8,000 feet via 86 tunnels and over 40 bridges in this unspoiled landscape in the 25,000 square mile canyons of the Sierra Madre.

You have a free a afternoon to visit “El Tehuecado” or The Tarahumara Girls Boarding School next to the Hotel Mision and the Jesuit Mission of Cerocahui. Enjoy happy hour at 6:00 p.m., and try our famous Mision Wine, made from our own vineyards. B,L, D


Day 3

Mission Hotel Second night

Take an early morning tour in which you will ride along a road (by van or bus) that will take you to 7,500 feet at Urique Lookout Point.

Free afternoon for personal activities at your own leisure. B, L, D


Day 4

Cerocahui /Posada Barrancas train station (Mirador Hotel)

This morning you can take a brief walk around the town (church and plaza) and at 11:30 a.m. you get ready to go to Bahuichivo Train station (40 min) for the next leg of the journey to Posada Barrancas Mirador Hotel.  At 12:20 p.m. re-board the Copper Canyon Train for another thrilling train ride with beautiful landscapes and amazing views on the way.  Have your camera ready. Arrive at Posada Barrancas train station around 2:30 p.m. where you will be transferred to Mirador Hotel (5 min). Check-In.

Afternoon to explore the area

Walk around with a guide or by yourself. Be back in time to enjoy our happy hour at 6:00 p.m. — margaritas & live music.  B, L, D


Day 5

Posada Barrancas | Mirador Hotel Second night

Take a day tour to the famous town of Creel visiting the main plaza and enjoy the charm that this community offers. Then visit Arareko Lake and the mysterious rock formations of the Valley of Mushrooms, followed by a visit to the old Jesuit Mission of San Ignacio and interact with Tarahumara Natives in their cave homes. Day 6

Posada Barrancas –  Chihuahua (or Los Mochis)

After breakfast, around 9:00 a.m. you will take the tour to Balancing Rock and 3 Canyons Overlook Point where the new aerial tramway is located, so bring your camera and have it ready!! This is an experience at Copper Canyon that you cannot miss!! (2 and a 1/2 hrs. duration). At 13:30 p.m. transfer to the train station, for your ride to Chihuahua City. B, L, D

The trip can be also ended in Los Mochis.


Day 7

End of trip

Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle to the airport is included, if needed. End of services. B
