Day 1

Chihuahua, Chihuahua

Spend one night at the historical and progressive city of Chihuahua, gateway to the spectacular Copper Canyon.


Day 2

Chihuahua – Posada Barrancas (Mirador Hotel)

All aboard the Copper Canyon train!

Board the famous Chepe Train heading to Posada Barrancas train station. The Copper Canyon train ride is an inspiring journey that took more than 100 years to construct. Called by Readers Digest “The most dramatic train ride in the northern Hemisphere”, National Geographic has called it an engineering marvel. This afternoon you can explore this spectacular area on the walking tour the Hotel Mirador provides. Spend two nights at this unique hotel on the rim of the Copper canyon.  B, L, D


Day 3

Posada Barrancas second night

After breakfast take a tour to the famous town of Creel, visiting the main plaza and enjoying the charm that this community offers. Also visit Arareko Lake and the mysterious rock formations of the Valley of Mushrooms, followed by a visit to the old Jesuit Mission of San Ignacio and interact with Tarahumara Natives in their cave homes. Day 4

Posada Barrancas – Cerocahui (Hotel Mision)

After breakfast, around 9:00 a.m. you will take the tour to Balancing Rock and the 3 Canyons Overlook Point, where the aerial tramway is located, so bring your camera and have it ready!! This is an experience at Copper Canyon that you cannot miss!! (2 ad 1/2 hrs. duration)

At 12:45 p.m. transfer to the train station, to continue to Cerocahui. You have free afternoon to visit “El Tehuecado” or the Tarahumara Girls Boarding School next to the Hotel Mision and the Jesuit Mission of Cerocahui. Enjoy happy hour at 6:00 p.m., and try our famous Mision Wine, made with our own vineyards. B, L, D


Day 5

Hotel Mision Second night (Cerocahui)

Take an early tour in which you will ride along a road (by van or bus) that will take you to 7,500 feet at Urique Lookout Point.

Free afternoon for personal activities at your own leisure. B, L, D


Day 6

Cerocahui – El Fuerte Colonial Town

This morning you can take a brief walk around the town and at 11:30 a.m. get ready to go to Bahuichivo Train station (40 min) for the next leg of the journey to El Fuerte.  At 15:00 p.m. re-board the Copper Canyon Train for another thrilling train ride that will take you from almost 8,000 feet to sea level. Arrive to El Fuerte train station and a vehicle will be ready to transfer you to the colonial town of El Fuerte, founded in 1564. It is famous for being the legendary birthplace of Señor Diego de la Vega, also known as Zorro. Spend the night at Posada del Hidalgo Hotel. B, L, D


Day 7

End of trip

Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle to the Los Mochis airport is included, if needed. End of services.
